The great warhorns have flaunted across twitter, press revealing that they have in fact been invited to beta. If you are unaware of this as of now check either Reddit or the Guru forums. Some have also gone to say that they will be releasing information about their time with the beta on February 20th. This is going to be a gruesomely long 17 days my friends.
So as of now, we don't know when exactly press will be playing the beta. But they seem to me locked down under an NDA until February 20th. This should give they enough time to play the game and compile a whole article about the beta. This is very good news, as a lot of stuff that we haven't seen in conventions will probably be in this beta. I'm curious as to how ArenaNet is going to be restricting their time with the game. Either restricting them from progressing too far or only allotting a smaller amount of time to play the game.
Another thing I am hoping to see is more race starting zones. We have still yet to see the Asura and Sylvari starting areas. Since those will be two of my main characters, it will be interesting to see how I'll be starting the game off. Dungeons are hopefully going to be available too in the beta, as seeing more of these amazing instanced zones would be nice.
But the biggest thing that I am glad these betas will bring, is a more in-depth look at the game. The videos of conventions are very rushed, you only have a tiny forty-five minute sessions. That's not a lot for an MMORPG. I'm hoping they can take more time and really give each aspect of the game more of a spotlight. Like character creation and dialogue.
To finally have this feeling of beta, albeit closed, is such a relieving feeling. After years and years of waiting we are so close to a release date.
